this last week my brother shawn and wife kim and baby westly came from utah to visit us! my brother cory and his wife kristal and kiddos megan, jonny, ethan, adam, and kaitlyn came over from tracy for the week too. it was really fun even though i missed out and most of the fun activities throughout the week because i was working! they went to the zoo, an a's game, great america, and swimming. i was able to take a 1/2 day at work that friday and we headed to manresa beach.
it was amazing. i realized i hadn't been in ocean water in waaaaaay too long so i was excited. when we first got there (which ended up being later than planned of course), there was a ton of birds diving into the water. i mean,
a ton! it was like a scene from the birds movie. then we saw seals and
dolphins!!! i spotted about 7 of them. i don't know if you know, but i love dolphins. it was really cool to see the jumping through the waves. eventually the birds flew away and the dolphins swam away too. i still wanted to get in the water even though it was getting later. it went kinda like this.
me: cory, are you going in the water?
cory: shawn are you going in the water?
shawn: i will if you will.
me: i will if you will too.
cory: let's go.
so we put our wetsuits on and headed in (failing to convince kim to come with, which i'm sure was the worst decision she's made, but there's always next time kim! ;-) tinytim) anyway, we were boogie boarding for awhile when shawn freaked me out by pointing out an enormous sea lion next to me. luckily it disappeared somewhere else. then, the most
amazingingly majestic thing happened!!! all of a sudden we spotted dolphins swimming right next to us!!! we stopped and watched them jumping through the waves and rolling around and playing with each other. it was so neat. they were super close, to a point where i admit i did get a little nervous. i mean, they're wild animals! especially considering one started to swim right at cory. he could have been raped. haha, ok sorry, you'll only understand that joke if you're in my family. anyway, we could hear them breathing and squeeking. it was so cute. it felt really surreal. dolphins swimming with us, the sun setting, it was so joyful. we just wished that our family would have noticed and had taken pictures! we could hear noises on land from people, almost like they were screaming. haha, i wondered if they thought they were sharks. anyway, after awhile we got back to boogie boarding and had a good time.
best decision ever to get in the water that day.

anyway, it was a really fun time having everyone in town. we also celebrated westley's 1st birthday and cory and dad's birthdays since they are all august birthdays! it was fun to see wes eat 2 whole cupcakes with his hands.

it was quite sad when everyone left. weird to have an empty house! not to mention, jimmy leaving off to college again! so sad. who am i gonna goof around with at home now?! butters? who am i gonna talk in funny accents with?? who am i gonna sing funny songs too? who's gonna be a ninja around the house and scare me in the middle of the night? lastly, who is going to help me convince mom and dad of reasons why we need to go out and celebrate? jimmy definitely left a dent in the home. maybe i'll be more motivated to move out with him gone =). although i have my own NEW bathrooms now! ;-) anyway, along with jimmy went my little white saturn. yes, my car. since i work in the city and take public transportation i don't really use it so much anymore anyway. he would make more use of it there. we agreed that i can use my moms car whenever (or so she says!) i need. so, we will see how that goes! so far its been ok. 3 days in!
